1. Yao X, female, 42 years old, from Henan Province, formerly a co-worker from the Justification by Faith Church. In October 1998, someone preached God’s end-time work to me and gave me a book of God’s word. Without making any careful investigation, I immediately discussed it with the brothers and sisters in my former denomination, and said, “There are too many denominations in the last days. We can’t accept them indiscriminately.” So I returned the book of God’s word to the one who preached the gospel to me. Later, another person fellowshipped with me about God’s end-time work many times. I not only refused to accept it but also said many blasphemous and slanderous words. In September 1999, my child got a strange illness. He was treated in four hospitals altogether, and it cost me several thousand yuan. However, I did not do any soul-searching. In January 2000, my husband came down with sciatica and was confined to bed for over twenty days, but I still did not perceive that as God’s discipline. On July 8, 2000, I myself fell out of a tree and broke my lumbar bone, and it cost me again a lot of money; however, I still did not wake up to reality. In September, someone brought me a booklet on people from various sects and denominations being punished for their resistance against Almighty God. After reading it, I looked back at my actions and behavior and a series of things that had happened to my family; and not until then did I know that I had been punished by God for my resistance against him. Later, after examination I knew that the One I resisted was precisely the only God Godself. So, I bitterly regretted, and lost no time in following God’s end-time work.

2. Mai X, female, 73 years old, from Henan Province, formerly a junior leader from the Shouters sect. In November 2001, God’s end-time gospel was preached to me. However, I did not accept it; but on the contrary, I resisted and blasphemed it, and hindered others from accepting it. One day in March 2002, I suddenly felt it difficult to swallow food, and my abdomen hurt unbearably. After an examination by a doctor, I was diagnosed with liver cyst; but I did not wake up to reality because of this. One day in May of the same year, another person came to preach God’s end-time gospel to me, but I still did not accept it and said, “Even if I were to receive punishment, let the Lord get even with me directly. It has nothing to do with you.” By October of the same year, I still had not taken a turn for the better. When my younger sister saw me suffering such severe pain that I could hardly bear it, she said, “This is a punishment for your resistance against God.” At that, I did not dare to resist anymore and started to read the book. Only through reading the book did I realize that what they had preached to me was really the true way. Then, I woke up to the fact that it was indeed God’s punishment that had come upon me. At that time, I felt deeply remorseful. I fell down before Almighty God to repent of my evil deeds and accepted God’s end-time work. Before long, unexpectedly, I made a miraculous recovery.

3. Zhang X, male, 59 years old, from Henan Province, formerly a believer from the Three-Self Church. In October 1998, God’s end-time work was preached to me, but I not only didn’t accept it but also resisted it. One day in August 1999, when I was washing my feet in a pool, I suddenly slipped and fell. After I stood up, I felt unbearable pain all over. For quite a few days, I had difficulty in breathing and almost could not turn my body over when sleeping. In April 2000, my second son, who was working in another place of the country, suddenly got septicemia. I prayed for him persistently and eagerly, but unexpectedly, he died in less than three days. I was beside myself with grief. After that matter, the people who preached God’s end-time work came again. It came into my mind that my family had never been at peace since I drove them away. “Is it possible that the one I have been resisting is the true God? Could it be that what they have preached is the work of the true God? ”At the time, I did not dare to say anything more to them but tried reading God’s word. In the piece of God’s word, The Commandments of the New Age, it says: “Maybe many people ever measured their strength with God. What actually does resisting God taste like? Is it sweet or bitter? You should understand this. Do not pretend not to know. Perhaps some people are not convinced in their hearts. But I advise that you’d better have a try at what actually it tastes like lest many people always have doubts about this matter. Many people resist secretly in their hearts while reading God’s word. After resisting like that, you felt as if a knife were piercing your heart, didn’t you? Either your family lost peace, or you felt unwell physically, or your children suffered calamities. Although your flesh is spared from death, God’s hand is never removed from you. Do you think this is a simple matter?” Through God’s word, I knew that I had not rejected a man but the almighty and true God, and that I had been punished for that. Thank God! It was God who loved me, and he saved me through that. I determined to follow God to the end unswervingly.

4. Wang X, male, 43 years old, from Henan Province, formerly a leader from the Breaking sect. In July 1997, God’s end-time work was preached to me; I accepted it at that time and read the book of God’s word. However, in September of the same year, I denied it because of my leader’s disturbance. Afterward, brothers and sisters preached it to me many times, but I never accepted it. In October 2001, another person preached it to me. I not only refused to accept it, but I also closed the meeting place to outsiders, saying, “From now on, if anyone comes to preach ‘God has come,’ never believe it. They are deceivers, devils, and false christs….” As soon as I finished saying those words, my gums hurt so terribly that I could not open my mouth, and my tongue felt as if it were pricked by a needle. However, I still did not wake up to reality and continued my disturbances. At the end of October 2001, I got a brain tumor and was tortured half to death. The treatment of it cost me almost ten thousand yuan. After I was discharged from the hospital, brothers and sisters preached the end-time gospel to me one more time and fellowshipped about God’s nature with me; then, I started to wake up to reality. Following that, God also inspired me and gave me the words: “God will come like a thief. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom!’” Not until then did I truly see God’s salvation. So I accepted God’s new work in February 2002.

5. Zhang X, male, 50 years old, from Henan Province, formerly a worker from the Hua Xuehe sect. On December 31, 2002, two brothers came to my home to preach God’s new work to me. Because God’s work did not conform to my notions, I not only didn’t accept it but also pointed at them with my left hand, saying, “You two get out of here! I definitely won’t believe your bullshit! Even if what you preach is the work of the true God, I’ll also overturn him because what he has done does not conform to my ideas!” Under half an hour after that, my left hand suddenly went numb and hurt incessantly, my five fingers were curled into a ball, and my arms could not be lifted up. Seeing this, my family hastily sent me to the hospital. After an examination by a doctor, I was diagnosed with cerebral thrombosis. At that time, my wife reminded me, “Is it because you drove away the two brothers who preached the gospel today and resisted the true God that you end up like this? If so, we should pray to Almighty God at once, asking him to forgive our sins. We should go to them tomorrow without delay….” The next day, I found the brothers who had preached the gospel to me. Through eating and drinking God’s word, I gradually dropped my notions and accepted God’s new work.
