141. Xiao X, male, 53 years old, from Taixing City, a key member of the Three-Self Church. In March 2000, Xiao accepted God’s end-time work. But two months later, he had notions about it because of failing to obtain a position in the church of Almighty God. At the beginning he formed cliques and then openly resisted God’s work. He even condemned God’s work and blasphemed God in a meeting of over one hundred people. Moreover, he dragged twelve people once he led back to the Three-Self Church. On the night of June 4, 2000, Xiao was attacked by a stroke, and on June 18, he kicked the bucket. His strong desire for position forfeited his life!

142. Jiang X, female, 39 years old, from Huangtu County in Jiangyin City, a junior leader from the Pentecostal denomination. In April 1999, someone preached God’s end-time gospel to her, but halfway through listening to it, she condemned it as a heresy and a cult, and said firmly, “I’d rather die than accept it.” And she also said something resisting and blaspheming God. Later, she reported that to her leader. Furthermore, she did her utmost to hinder others from listening to the true way, which obstructed the gospel work in that area. In October 1999, Jiang got a strange disease. She became paralyzed with all her bones loosened, and meanwhile, she lost all her hair and her two arms became different in shape, one being thin and the other thick (the thick one was not functional). The doctor said that her case was unprecedented in Chinese medical history. In September 2000, Jiang died. At that time, her once corpulent body had become a mere skeleton.

143. Chen X, male, 56 years old, from Guanyun County, a leader from the Way of Life Church. In January 2000, someone preached God’s end-time work to him, but he didn’t accept it. Moreover, he went everywhere to close their meeting places to outsiders and threatened the people he led, “Someone says that God has come. It is not true and is to deceive people. Never listen to their preaching. Once you do, you will be trapped. None of you shall accept it. Whoever does will be expelled!” Later, he forcibly dragged back two sisters who had already accepted God’s end-time work. In October, Chen defrauded the sisters of the books of God’s word and burned them in the presence of several co-workers and said, “Well, I will be waiting to see what retribution I am going to receive!” His evil deeds greatly obstructed the gospel work in that area. On January 5, 2001, Chen had a sudden pain in his abdomen. He was sent to the hospital, but the doctor couldn’t find out what was wrong with him. And after all rescue measures failed, Chen went to the netherworld.

144. Song X, male, 51 years old, from Fengxian County, a leader from the Three-Self Church. In October 1998, when Song heard that there were people preaching Almighty God’s end-time work, he organized all the leaders to close their meeting places to outsiders. One day in February 1999, some gospel preachers preached God’s end-time work to him, but he didn’t accept it and said, “You are absolutely led astray by others. You are deceived. You should repent and turn back….” At the beginning of May 1999, Song said in a meeting, “What they preach is a deceiver. It is an evil way. Never accept it.” And he even said that he himself could open Revelation. After preaching, Song discussed with a co-worker, “We should by all means stop those people from preaching Almighty God. Just send some activists to the police station as a warning and see whether they still dare to preach it!” Later that night, sometime after 10:00 p.m., Song arrived at home but died a sudden death in bed at mid-night. His plan vanished like soap bubbles.

145. Chen X, male, 49 years old, from Liheng Town in Shuyang County, a junior leader from the Hua Xuehe sect. In April 1999, a relative of him preached God’s end-time work to him four times, but he never accepted it and even said, “What you preach is an evil way. If you were not my relative, I would have called the police to have you arrested. I have met many people who preached the little scroll. What they preach is a cult. I have driven away all those who came to my home preaching the gospel.” Later, Chen dragged back a sister who had just accepted God’s end-time work and reported that to his upper leader. Then they closed all their meeting places to outsiders. On April 5, 2000, Chen said in a meeting, “Today, I will testify for God: I had ever got a deadly disease, but now I’ve fully recovered. It is God who has bestowed peace upon me.” (Chen had got cerebral thrombosis in May 1998, and was cured after spending several thousand yuan on the treatment.) However, just after the meeting, his cerebral thrombosis relapsed. He fell on the floor and was unable to speak. On April 12, 2000, he died after all rescue measures failed. Chen not only believed in the evil spirit but also resisted the true way, so how could he have peace?
